Dream House in California is not a house for only one or two children. It's a house for many {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(kid). It's a family. It's the future.

    Imagine{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(live) in a hospital for many years because of illness. Imagine that one stays in a cold street{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(连词) there is no other place to stay. These children need help. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（代词）need Dream House.

    Many years ago, a little girl named Collin Rose{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(decide) that when she grew up, she would offer a warm home{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(介词) those sick and homeless children. When she grew up, she became{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(冠词)  nurse and made her dream come true. In November 2003, Collin Rose set up Dream House.

    Collin Rose's efforts have{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(encourage) many people to help sick and homeless children.

    "Every child should have a happy childhood. We may help make these children's lives{#blank#}9{#/blank#}  (good) than before. Your small help may{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(great) change their lives. No help is too small." Collin Rose said.

This spring, our teacher suggested we should do a green project and plant some trees around the school. Everyone thought it was {#blank#}1{#/blank#} great idea, so we started looking online for the best trees to buy. But we soon found that {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (choose) trees was not that easy. Our teacher suggested that we should look for trees that grew {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (natural) in our part of the world. That way, the trees would be more suitable {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the wildlife here. We learnt that trees are the{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (happy) when they have room to grow, with plenty of space for their branches. The trees might get {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(damage) close to the school playgrounds, for example. So we tried to avoid areas where students were very active. Finally, we found a quiet corner close to the school garden – perfect! Later we all {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (take) turns to check the trees regularly and make sure they had no strange spots or marks on the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (leaf). We all knew that we wouldn't be at the school anymore by the time the trees grew tall, and that was a bit sad. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} we'd planted the trees to benefit not only the environment, but also future students at the school. We knew they'd get as much pleasure from them as we had. And that {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (think) really cheered us up!

Last week I went to an art show. A painting caught my eyes. To my amazement(惊奇), it was painted by Steven, one of my {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Then many things about him came into my mind. Steven was from a poor family. His parents{#blank#}2{#/blank#} not afford to buy him some basic things that he needed. Once our school provided gloves for poor children. I put Steven's name on the list. He was so {#blank#}3{#/blank#} when he received a pair. He loved to wear them and they were always {#blank#}4{#/blank#} than anybody else's. Steven had a gift(天赋) for painting and he could {#blank#}5{#/blank#} understand what I described in class. But he didn't have money to buy the paper for painting. So sometimes, I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} him some. He practiced hard. And I often showed his paintings of the class. He was greatly {#blank#}7{#/blank#}.

 One day just before the summer vacation, he came to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} some art books. When the new term began, he showed some of {#blank#}9{#/blank#} paintings to me. I felt shocked. They were very good. Then we talked a lot. He said he would keep on. Later he was admitted(录取) to a famous art university. After graduation, he had many difficulties, but he never gave up. He was always {#blank#}10{#/blank#} his best to improve himself. His hard work and strong mind led to his success.
