One rainy morning, my phone woke me up. It was a phone call from a1 driver who had my friend's mobile phone. 2 , my friend had left it in the taxi the night before.

 A 3morning for taxi drivers in this big city is a very busy time. He asked me where he could meet me to give me the mobile phone. I told him the street where I lived. Then I quickly 4and got dressed in order to meet   5 on the corner.

 My friend had only recently moved to this city. So his mobile phone was very  6 to him.

 When the taxi driver arrived, I thanked him and praised him  7 having such a kind and beautiful heart. I asked him for his name,  8 my friend himself could thank him. He said my praises and 9 were all that he needed. Then he drove off.

 I told my friend how I had received his 10 . Hearing this, he was thankful and said kindness was really everywhere in this world.

 What do you think a hero is? In this story, a brother and a sister have different ideas.　　

It was on Apri1 10. Kwan was excited. The newspaper was 1 a writing contest(比赛). The winner's story would be printed in the newspaper!“It says to write about someone2 you think is a hero,” Kwan said. “I will write about my favorite soccer player. He's 3 hero.”

 Kwan's sister, Cho, asked,“Can I enter the contest?”

“No. You're too little,” Kwan said.“You won't win." He4his soccer ball and went outside.

 Cho knew what to do.5 , she took the newspaper. Next, she read the contest rules. Then, she began to write. “I believe that I can win,” she said to herself.

 When Cho had finished, she found her mother. She told her mother6  the contest. “Who did you write about?”asked Mother.

“I chose Rosa Parks,” said Cho. “She was a true 7. She believed everyone was equa1 (平等的). She wanted all people to be treated the same.”

On tht morning of June 3, Kwan ran outside to get the newspaper.“The contest winner's story 8 in today's newspaper!” he shouted

Two minutes 9 , Kwan came back inside.“I guess I need to reconsider(重新考虑) what I said to you, Cho. You are not too10  . You won the contest!”

“Your story taught me a lot,”Kwan said, "Rosa Parks was a true hero."

   Granny Sarya lived outside Moscow. Her only son 1 to Afghanistan(阿富汗) and was killed in action there.Soon after that, her husband lost his job. The old man was always 2 food and clothes.And on a winter night he went out alone when Sarya was asleep. The next morning he was 3 dead in a cold lake. And his worn-out coat was 4 in a tree not far away. Sarya was so 5 that she nearly took her own life.

    Things got worse and worse after that. She always lived in hunger and cold. She had hoped that the government(政府) could help her but she 6 .

    It was a cold windy night. The old woman couldn't 7 asleep at all. She had to get up. She decided to write a letter to God(神), asking for 8 .     Do you think of the future? Three friends and I make a poster (海报) to show our thoughts (想法) in a class meeting.

    The main (主要的) 1 of the poster is black. We hope it can make people 2. We draw a green 3 at the bottom (底部) of the poster. We want to show that the Earth is so beautiful. If we don't protect (保护) 4 now, maybe we'll have to find another planet to live on in the future.

    The future is not all about 5 things. We write the words "politics (政治)" and" technology (科技)" 6 the poster. During our speech (演讲), we say in the future all the countries will work together. And our technology will develop (发展) very fast and make the world better.

    We also talk 7 a new planet to live on. We name it "hearth". It 8 the words "new" and "earth". We 9 think maybe in the future humans and aliens (外星人) will live together and even have babies. We name these babies" hulien" — "human" and "alien".

    Mr. Robinson had to travel somewhere on business, and as he was in a hurry, he decided to go by1. He liked sitting2a window when he was flying, so he got onto the plane and looked for a window seat. He3all of them taken except one. There was a young man4beside it, and Robinson was surprised that he had not taken the one by the window. Anyhow, he went towards it.

    When he5it, however, he saw that there was a notice on it, written6large letters, 7"This seat is kept for proper balance. Thank you. "Mr. Robinson had never seen such a notice before, but he thought the plane must be carrying 8 particularly heavy in its room which made it necessary to have the passengers properly balance. So he walked on and found9empty seat, not beside the window10.

    Two or three other people11to sit in the window seat next to the young man, but they also read the notice and went on. Then when the plane was nearly12a very beautiful girl13into the plane. The young man, who was watching the passengers coming in, 14took the notice15the seat beside him, and by this means succeeded in having a pretty companion during the whole trip.
