Five Ways to Fight Germs(细菌)

    If you have a cold or flu,you'd better not pass it on to anyone else. Just use a napkin every time you sneeze or cough. Put used napkins in the dustbin.

    Always wash your hands with running water and soap before you cat anything,after you use the bathroom and after you sneeze(打喷嚏)or blow your nose. The germs won't stand a chance.

    Stations, hospitals, supermarkets are places filled with germs that make people sick. When people cough or sneeze, the germs spread widely, landing here and there.

    Unless it's necessary, go out less often.

    You should always buy pets from a good pet shop and take them to the animal doctor regularly. Keep pets as clean as possible and always wash your hands after you play with them.

    When you go food shopping, buy all the things for the fridge, and put them away as soon as you get home.

    Always prepare for food with clean hands.

A. Use a napkin

B. Use a fridge

C. Love your pets

D. Keep off public places

E. Wash your hands often

F. Keep pets clean and healthy

Chris Jones 刚刚结束了一次不寻常的印度之旅,记者就此对他进行了采访。以下是采访的部分内容:

Reporter: {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

Chris: Well, it all started two years ago when I was planning a trip to India, I visited  a photographic(摄影的) exhibition of elephants and I realized that the only way to travel around India was on an elephant.

Reporter: {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

Chris: I flew to New Delhi and started looking for an elephant. I needed an elephant trained to carry people. I asked an expert for help. He taught me how to ride an elephant. He also helped me find an elephant.

Reporter: {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

Chris: Not too long, I bought a female(母的) elephant called Tara for about USD 6, 000.

Reporter: {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Chris: Tara and I set off from New Delhi a week later. We were heading to Sonepur in northern India. And what a ride! Elephants can travel at about 6 miles an hour and Sonepur was more than 1, 200 km away. It took us 64 days to complete the journey.

Reporter: {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

Chris: Yes, a few. But nothing serious. On the third day, Tara hurt her foot. But that got better quickly. Also, there was a lot of heavy rain during the first week and we got very wet!

请根据Chris Jones 的回答,从A、B、C、D、E、F六个选项中选择恰当的问题填入相应的五个空格中。

A. How long did it take to find a suitable elephant?

B. What gave you the idea to travel around India on an elephant?

C. Did you have any problems on your journey?

Tips for a trip to San Francisco

Hi, Li Ming,

    I'm glad that you are coming to San Francisco next month. But I think there is still something I should let you and your friends know before you leave.

    First, bring a warm jacket and sweater so that you're prepared for changes in the temperature. Even in the summer months of July and August, it gets cold.

    Second. many of the city only accept prepaid(预付款的)calling cards. So a prepaid phone card is needed. I suggest you buy one at the airport.

    Third, it's not easy to find a hotel room when you arrive. Hotels fill up quickly in San Francisco all year, especially is summer. You'd better book your room before you come.

    One more thing. San Francisco is a great walking city but there are hills!Bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes if you're planning to go around on foot.

    Lastly, there are many wonderful cultural activities in San Francisco year round. Use the Internet to get the latest information about the activities at the time of your visit.

Wish you a pleasant trip.
