Fred telephoned his wife. “I've got two free tickets for the theatre tonight,” he told her. “Meet me {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the office. We'll have something to eat and then go on to the theatre.”

    Fred's wife was very pleased. They hadn't been to the theatre for a long time. She met her husband as he told her. They had dinner and got to the theatre {#blank#}2{#/blank#} in time.

    At the entrance Fred {#blank#}3{#/blank#} his wallet to get the tickets. “It's very strange,” he said. “They aren't here!” “Try your pockets,” said his wife. But the tickets weren't there, either.

    Then Fred looked very {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. “What's the matter?” asked his wife. “Well,” Fred said, “I remember what I did with my tickets. I put them in my bag. But because I wasn't going home, I left it in the office!”

Nick: What are you reading?

Jill: It is a book about the future.

Nick: Sounds cool. So what will the future {#blank#}1{#/blank#} like?

Jill: Well, cities will be more and more crowded and polluted. There will be fewer trees and the environment will be in great{#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

Nick: That sounds bad! Will we have to move to other {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ?

Jill: Maybe. But I want to live on the earth.

Nick: Me, too.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}What can we do?

Jill: We can use less water and plant more trees. If everyone{#blank#}5{#/blank#}a part in saving the earth, the earth will be a better place to live in.

    There are robots all around us. They are very helpful. Some do very difficult work like flying a plane or {#blank#}1{#/blank#} subway trains. And some do simple work. People put the program into the robots to tell them what to {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.Robots are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} humans in two ways; they work and they have feedback(反馈). They are very important in {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. They can do a lot of work that people can't do.

    In {#blank#}5{#/blank#} daily life, robots are {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, too. People used to hope that robots could help them with their housework. It has now become {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}we think robots must look like a real person,  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in fact, most of the time, they're just look like machines (机器).

    In the future, robots will be smarter. It's possible that we will have robot judges(法官)and robots will help people to do {#blank#}10{#/blank#} things.

    Early one Saturday morning Ann brought her nephew Sam to her friends Bill and Kate and asked term to{#blank#}1{#/blank#}him for the day. Sam, an independent boy of six years old, had black hair and was wearing a pair of jeans and a bright{#blank#}2{#/blank#}shirt.
