About five hundred years ago, an earthquake happened in a small village. 1 for them, nothing was destroyed（毁坏）and no one was hurt. But a huge stone 2 from a nearby mountain and stopped in the middle of the road.

     3 the earthquake stopped, many people came to the road and saw the stone. Some of the 4 men tried to lift the stone out of the road. But they couldn't move it. They tried to push it 5 failed. They tried to pull it with ropes but nothing 6.

    “Well," they said sadly, “there's nothing we can do about it. We'll have to change the way." At this time a boy about 12 years old said,  “I think I can help you to move the stone away." “You?" they shouted. “What are you talking about?" The men all 7 the boy.

    The next morning, some people came into the road. One of them shouted, “The stone is gone." More people ran out to see 8 had happened. It was true. The stone wasn't on the road any longer. It wasn't even near the road.

    The boy walked over to where the stone had been and said, “I buried it."

    The people looked very 9.“You see," he said, “I dug a deep hole next to the stone and I dug a small incline(斜坡)up to the stone and the stone rolled(滚)down into the hole 10. Then I covered it with earth."

    The villagers shouted, “Clever boy! Clever boy!" And some of them said, “Why didn't we think out this good idea?"

    When I was 8 years old, I once decided to run away from home. With my bag and some sandwiches, I started for the front door and said to Mom, “I'm 1.”

  “If you want to 2, that's all right,” she said. “But you came into this home without anything and you can leave the same way.” I 3 my bag and sandwiches on the floor heavily and started for the door again.

  “Wait a 4,” Mom said. “I want your 5 back. You didn't wear anything when you 6.” This really angered me. I took my clothes off—shoes, socks, underwear and all—and 7, “Can I go now?” “Yes,” Mom answered, “but when you close that door, don't hope to come back!”

  “Who's there?” I heard.

  “It's Billy! Let me in!”

    The voice behind the 13 answered, “Billy doesn't live here any more. He ran away from home.” Glancing(瞥) behind me to see if anyone else was coming. I begged(乞求), “Aw, come on, Mom! I'm still your son. Let me 14!”

    The door opened and Mom's 15 face appeared(出现). “Did you change your decision about running away?” she asked.

  “What's for supper?” I answered.

    Lucy likes shopping ,but she is careless (粗心的). She often leaves some of 1 things in shops.

    One day, Lucy's mother wants to make 2 for supper. "What kind of dumplings do you want to eat, Lucy? What about carrots or cabbages?" she asks.

    "I 3 dumplings with cabbages, Mom," Lucy answers. "OK! Go and 4 some cabbages and mutton, please, "her mother says and gives Lucy 50 yuan.

    "OK, Mom," answers Lucy. Then she 5 to the supermarket with the money.

    There are many things in the supermarket. Lucy buys some cabbages and mutton. They are 32 yuan. She pays 50 yuan and then 6. Lucy's mother is 7 to see her take all the food back home.

    "Great, Lucy! You don't forget anything this time," she says. Lucy is happy, too.

    "8, Mom. They cost 32 yuan," Lucy says. Then, she finds that she 9 one thing. "Oh, sorry, Mom. I don't leave the 10,but I leave the change (零钱)," Lucy says.

I am Frank. I lost my pencil box this morning. I look for it everywhere but I can't find it. So I ask my friend Linda for help. She doesn't know where it is. She says I can go to the lost and found box in the library to find it. After lunch, I go to the library.

I meet my classmates Lucy and Bob there. Lucy lost her ID card and Bob lost his soccer ball in P.E. class and they found them in the lost and found box. When I get to the lost and found box, I see Mrs. Wang there.

I ask, "Excuse me, Mrs. Wang, is my blue pencil box here?"

"Here are two blue pencil boxes. What's in your pencil box?" she asks.

"There is a black pen, a red pen, a yellow pencil, an eraser ... And there is a photo of my family. My parents, my sister and I are in the photo." I say.

"Let me see. This is yours. Here you are." Mrs. Wang says.

"Can I know who hands(交) it in here? I want to thank him / her," I ask.

"A student does. But I don't know the name."

I say "Thank you very much" to Mrs. Wang and get my pencil box from her. I say to myself, "I must help others(别人), too."

One day, a successful businessman was getting ready to go to his office in the morning. When he opened the door of his car, a stray dog(流浪狗) sleeping under his car suddenly came out and bit his leg! He was angry and threw a rock at the dog, but he was not able to hit it. 

Upon reaching his office, the businessman called a meeting of his managers. During the meeting, he took out his anger on his managers. His managers were upset about this, and took out their own anger on the employees(员工) working under them. Gradually, the businessman's anger spread through the whole company. '

The businessman was still angry after returning home. His wife opened the door. She asked him, "Why are you so late today?" The man shouted at his wife, "I didn't go to the office to play soccer, I went to work. So don't ask me such stupid questions!" His wife was upset about being shouted at for no reason. She turned her anger on their son, who was watching TV. "This is all you do. You have no interest in studying! Turn off the TV now!" She yelled. 

The son became upset as well. He walked out of his house and saw a dog passing by. He picked up a rock and threw it at the dog angrily. The dog ran away, barking in pain. 

Sometimes, when we are angry about something, we might take out our anger on others who are not to blame for our mood. This is not fair to others. We should learn to control our anger.
