I like spring. It's my favourite season. It's sunny and warm in spring. We fly kites in spring. I don't like winter. It's very cold. I live(居住)in Beijing. It's very cold now. In Sanya，it's warm in winter. So I go to Sanya with my mum and dad. We go swimming in winter in Sanya.

A: What time is it, Mingming?

B: It's eight o'clock.

A: OK. Let's count the rulers. How many rulers are there'?

B: One, two, three... Twelve rulers.

A: What colour are they?

B: They're yellow.

A: How many pens are there?

B: Two pens.

    Water is very important to living things. Without water there could be no life on the earth. All animals and plants need water. Man also needs water. We need water to drink, to cook our food and to clean ourselves.

    Water is needed in offices, factories and schools. Water.is needed everywhere. There is water in seas, rivers and lakes.

    Water is found almost everywhere. Even in the desert of the world, there is some water in air. You can't see or feel it when it is part of air. The water in the seas, rivers and lakes is a liquid(液体). The water in air is a gas, and we call it water vapour (水蒸气).

    Clouds are made of water. They may be made of very small drops of water. They may also be made of snow crystals(结晶体). Snow crystals are very small crystals of ice. Ice is frozen water. It is a solid (固体). There can be snow and ice everywhere in winter.

    Water may be a solid, a liquid or a gas. When it is a solid, it may be as hard as a stone. When it is a liquid, you can drink it. When it is a gas, you can't see or feel it.

    The Smart family are looking at a map of China. They want to visit many famous places in China. Sam wants to go to Xi'an and see the Terracotta Warriors(兵马俑). Amy wants to visit Hangzhou. She wants to see the West Lake. She knows the West Lake is very beautiful. Sam and Amy's mother wants to visit Guangzhou and Hong Kong She wants to do some shopping there. Mr. Smart wants to visit the Three Gorges Dam (三峡大坝). It is a very big dam and it's very interesting. Sam and Amy want to visit the dam, too. Tom wants to stay at home.

    Hainan is in the south of China. It's a beautiful island(岛). It's very nice. It's always sunny and warm. It doesn't have winter. You can enjoy the sunshine at the beach every season. And you can see coconuts everywhere. From December to February, a lot of people come here to relax.
