How to stay focused in class

No matter how much you want to sit with your friends during the class, try your best to avoid them. Talking with friends is not going to help you stay focused in class and will cause trouble, too.

Look at the teacher. Your teacher is not just standing up there talking — they're trying to give you an acceptable education. Show the teacher that he or she has your full attention, by looking him or her in the eye.

Take notes. By taking notes, you'll be able to "get into" the lesson. Listen for key phrases such as, "This is important," "This is the main idea," etc. This can help you listen more intently (专心地); you'll have something to do and focus on.

Get involved (参与) in class discussions. This is a wonderful way to become a more focused and successful student. When a teacher asks a question, offer to answer it.This shows the teacher that you're listening intently during the class.

Ask a question. This really shows your teacher that you want to be better, and can recognize the things you're having difficulty with. Chances are, someone else in the class has the same question (and is too afraid to ask!). They'll be relaxed — and so will you.

A. Do your best.

B. Avoid sitting with friends.

C. Don't try to finish your old notes in class.

D. Write down key points as your teacher speaks.

E. If he or she asks for an opinion, share your own.

F. If you don't understand something, never be afraid to ask.

G. This person should have your full attention at all times in class.

    We often describe spring as a time of rebirth, renewal and awakening. However, when the weather turns warm, many of us suffer from spring fever Are we actually sick when we have spring fever? Originally, yes,{#blank#}1{#/blank#} When the weather turned warm, some people developed sore throats, headaches, or stuffy noses. The definition of “spring fever” slowly changed in the early 1800s, Now people come to use the term to mean a sudden increase of romantic feelings. Elvis Presley describes this feeling in the song “Spring Fever.” “Spring fever, comes to everyone. Spring fever, it's tune for fun. There's no doubt now, love is everywhere. Get up, get out, spring is everywhere.” These days, we use “spring fever to describe a restless feeling after the long, cold days of winter. But the word “spring” is not just a season.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} You say to her, “You can't just spring that on me! I'll need time to find another roommate!” But then you think that maybe it's for the best. Every time you see her, you feel guilty about Charlie, her pet mouse.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} She always expects you to compensate her for her loss of the mouse: she wants you to spring for lunch, spring for movie tickets, and sometimes even spring for groceries.     Many facts suggest that children are overweight and the situation is getting worse, according to the doctors. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

Some people blame the fact that we are surrounded by shops selling unhealthy, fatty foods, such as fried chicken and ice cream at low prices. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, then probably children would buy less take-away food.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. I agree with this, because good eating habits begin early in life, long before children start to visit fast food shops. If parents often give their children fried chicken and chocolate rather than healthy food, they will go for sweet and salty foods, and children will find it hard to get rid of the habit.

There is a third reason for this situation. Children these days take very little exercise. They do not walk to school. When they get home, they sit in front of the television or their computers and play computer games. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. What they need is to go outside and play active games or sports.

The above are the main reasons for this problem. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, as well as forcing them away from fast food shops and bad eating habits.

    Parents and the Young

It is natural that young people are often uncomfortable when they are with their parents.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} They often think that their parents are out of touch with modern ways, that they are too serious and too strict with their children, and that they seldom give their children a free hand. It is time that parents often find it difficult to win their children's trust and they always forget how they themselves felt when young. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}It is one of their ways to show that they have grown up and they can face any difficult situation. Adults worry more easily. Most of them plan things ahead. Young people make their parents angry with their choices in clothes, in entertainment and in music. But they do not mean to cause any trouble: It just shows that they feel cut off from the adult's world, and they have not yet been accepted into their world. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}And if their parents do not like their music or entertainment or clothes or their way of speech, this will make the young people very happy.
