My name is Eric Green. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a student. I have a sister.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} name is Lucy Green. She is a student, too. I can play tennis, but not {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.Lucy {#blank#}4{#/blank#} sports ,too. She {#blank#}5{#/blank#} tennis every Sunday. Lucy and I both like {#blank#}6{#/blank#} food. She likes salad and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}.I like {#blank#}8{#/blank#} carrots very much. So, we like vegetables and we eat{#blank#}9{#/blank#} a lot every day, because we{#blank#}10{#/blank#}they are healthy.

    Around four years ago, I received a call from the headmaster of my son's school. He asked me to speak to a group the next morning. After the call, I became afraid. The time from his call to the next morning seemed like {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. The whole night, I could not sleep well. Many times, I wanted to call the headmaster with regret and tell him that I could not .come. Finally, I had some {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. I thought, "If I miss this chance, surely the school will {#blank#}3{#/blank#} invite me again to any of their programmes.  "

    The next morning, I reached the school on time. Before my turn came, my whole body was shaking with fear. When my turn came and I started {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, my heartbeat increased and my mouth went dry! I wasn't even able to read my paper {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. I didn't know where I was standing and what I was reading. That was the day when I realised what my biggest weakness was, Public Speaking.

    After my speech, I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} with the headmaster and explained what happened to me. He told me that this happened to {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. Even great speakers faced the same things when they started. He suggested that I come again next time.

    Around one month later, I was {#blank#}8{#/blank#} to give a talk again. This time I was feeling comfortable. My speech was appreciated (赏识) {#blank#}9{#/blank#} both the headmaster and the teachers. They praised my efforts a lot.

    After that, I became more confident when giving speeches. I learned that everything is {#blank#}10{#/blank#} if we have the courage to take the first step.

Matt: Why were you late for class today, Kevin?

Kevin: My alarm clock didn't go off! I kept  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  , and when I woke up it was already 8:00 a.m.!

Matt: Oh, no!

Kevin: So I just quickly put on some clothes and  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} out of the door. Matt: You didn't eat breakfast, did you?

Kevin: No, I didn't even brush my  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} or wash my face! But before I got to the bus stop, the bus had already left.

Matt: Then how did you get here?

Kevin: {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  , Carl's dad saw me on the street and gave me a lift in his car.

Matt: Well, at  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  by the time you got to school, you were only five minutes late for class.
