阅读下面材料,在空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。

In Canada and the United States, people enjoy entertaining(请客) at home. They often invite friends overa meal, a party, or just for coffee and conversation.

Here are the  (kind) of things people say when they invite someone to their home:

"Would you like to come over for dinner Saturday night?" "Hey, we (have) a party on Friday. Can you come?" (reply) to an invitation, either say thank you and accept, or say you're sorry and give an excuse: "Thanks, I'd love to. What time would you like me to come?"  "Oh, sorry. I've tickets for a movie."

Sometimes, , people use expressions that sound like invitations but which are not real invitations. For example: "Please come over for a drink sometime." "Why not get together for  party sometime?" "Why don't you come over and see us sometime soon?"

They are really just polite ways of  (end) a conversation. They are not real invitations because they don't mention a specific(确定的) time or date. They just show that the person is trying to be  (friend). To reply to expressions like these, people just say "Sure, that would be great!" or "OK. Yes, thanks."

So next time when you hear  sounds like an invitation, listen carefully. Is it a real invitation or is the person just being friendly?

阅读下面短文,按照句子结构的语法性和上下文连贯的要求,在空格处填入适当的词(不多于3个单词)或使用括号中词语的正确形式填空。

One of my main concerns when I am helping people achieve their goals {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) how they measure success . I see individuals getting  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (frustrate) as they struggle hard for success.

The main reason is that people allow their definition of success to be determined by someone or something else. We should look at {#blank#}3{#/blank#} own skills to determine what is successful to us. We should look inwards to determine {#blank#}4{#/blank#} it would mean for us to be successful in our own mind.

Evaluating a successful person needs {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (look) at his pathway to success, his action and his{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (determine). You must set your own course of action, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} stay on your course. You alone must determine what success means to you. Do what you do to the best of your ability and the rest will take care of itself.

Here is the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (true). Being a success is doing your best, not being the best. Success is not something you become, but it is something you continue being.

When we get to that point, we will experience a lot more joy and a lot less depression. And that {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sound) good to us!

Remember the great quote from Napoleon Hill, “If you cannot do great things, do small things in {#blank#}10{#/blank#} great way.”
