Alice Brown is an American school girl. She is thirteen. She has two brothers. Her brothers and her are at the same school. They go to school from Monday to Friday. They don't have classes on Saturday or Sunday. Her parents are teachers. They all like living in China now. Her parents say, "China is great. " She likes reading(阅读). Her favorite subject is Chinese. Her favorite teacher is Miss Zhao. She teaches (教)Chinese. With Miss Zhao's help, Alice's Chinese improves a lot. She can speak some Chinese now. Her favorite sport is ping-pong. Her favorite school day is Monday, because they have two Chinese classes on Monday. Look! She is reading an interesting Chinese book now!

Liu Yibing has been interested in planes since he was young. And he 1 his first plane in when he was years old. Over the next five years, Liu spent about , yuan on his 2 and made four more planes. But none of them was 3 .

It shows just how much Chinese people {#blank#}1{#/blank#} growing vegetables. China has a lot of available land for planting things. For {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, Chinese people made a living through farming. The Book of Songs《诗经》, written 2,500 years ago, records many {#blank#}3{#/blank#} of vegetables.

Nowadays, even though some Chinese people no longer have a lot of land, they still grow vegetables {#blank#}4{#/blank#} they can. Xue Ling, 35, is one of them. Since 2010, she has been planting vegetables on the balcony (阳台) of {#blank#}5{#/blank#} apartment in Jinan, Shandong province. "It's the only way to keep my food, at least the vegetables, clean and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}," she said. Caroline Ma from Hong Kong grows vegetables {#blank#}7{#/blank#} a hobby. In 2020, Ma started farming on her rooftop and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} planting seeds that she collected during her travels. For Ma, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} is a meditative (冥想的) experience. "I am in my own little world and I can forget about my problems," she said.

When I was in Grade Three，I was chosen to be the princess in the school play.For weeks，my mother had helped me practise my words.But once on stage，every word 1 from my head.Then my teacher asked me to change my role to be a narrator（讲述者）for the play.Though I didn't tell my mother what had happened that day，she noticed my 2 and asked if I wanted to take a walk in the garden.

Last summer, my parents and I were planning to travel. We finally {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (choose) Shanghai. Shanghai is a large, crowed and modern city but it also has lots {#blank#}2{#/blank#} historical places. 

We comfortably stayed there for two days. On the first day, we went to Nanjing Road. There were many shopping malls and people, so we had to speak {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(loud) to make our voice be heard. We also bought several {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(ticket) to visit some places of interest. In the morning, we took {#blank#}5{#/blank#} walk along the Huangpu River. After {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(visit) the Bund in the evening, we went to the Oriental Pearl Tower. It is a famous place in Pudong and one of the world's {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (tall) TV towers. 

On the second day, we visited Xintiandi. We saw many modern shops and restaurants in traditional shikumen-style houses. The scenery(风景) was really amazing, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} we went back early. Because it was hotter than {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(I) hometown. 

The trip to Shanghai {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(leave) an unforgettable memory on me. I liked both the new and the old Shanghai. Two days was a bit short. I hope I can go to Shanghai again some time in the future. 

Doing projects is a fun way to learn as I can practise what I have been taught. I enjoy hands-on learning as it keeps me 1 in what I am doing. By putting what I have learnt into practice, I can test my own knowledge to see 2 I have fully understood what was taught. Even if I make 3 , I can learn from them. 

Once, I was given a gardening project for 4 class. For the project, my classmates and I had to grow plants from seeds and note down their progress over a month. Our teacher 5 each of us basil（罗勒叶）seeds to plant in the school garden. Following her instructions, each of us wet some cotton wool, put it in a small container, placed our seeds into the soil and left it in our classroom. We then waited a few 6 for the seeds to come out. I checked my seeds every day and made sure 7 the cotton wool remained wet. My seeds finally 8 in 7 days, like our teacher said it would.
