1970 was World Conservation(保护) Year. The United Nations wanted everyone to know that the world was in danger. They hoped something could be" done.

    Here is one example of the problem. At one time there were 1,300 kinds of plants, trees and flowers in Holland(荷兰), but now only 866 are left. The others have been destroyed (毁灭) by modern people and their science. We are polluting earth, air, water and everything around us. We can't live without these things. If things go on like this, we shall destroy ourselves.

    What will happen in the future? Perhaps it's more important to ask "What must we do?". More and more young people have known this. Many of them are helping to save our earth. For example, they plant trees. In a small town in the United States a large group of girls cleaned the banks of 11 kilometres of their river. Young people may hear about conservation through a song called "No one's going to change our world". It was made by Cliff Gichard and other singers. The money from it will help to conserve tigers, elephants and pandas on the earth.

    They say music is universal, and it seems to be true since wherever we go, we see people listening, playing or dancing to it. We tend to think that music is larger than our cultural differences and shows the deeper connections between us.

    But according to a recent study published in the Current Biology, music doesn't speak to everyone. There is a condition, the researchers argue, called "musical anhedonia". They say that those who have this condition may have few abilities to experience pleasure from music.

    For the study, 30 people listened to the same, mostly classical music pieces. They were then asked to complete a questionnaire on how they felt about the music. At the same time, the researchers measured their heart rate and skin reaction, which are considered physiological measures of feelings.

    According to the researchers, most of the people in the study got pleasure from the music. They had a quicker heartbeat and sweatedmore. However, a small number of them had very little and even no pleasant feeling while they were listening to the music. These people had none or very few of the physical signs which the others in the study experienced.

    The researchers say that this means people have different abilities to enjoy music and that "there are people who specifically can't enjoy music at all"

    To study the condition more deeply, another group of scientists, at Columbia University, US, researched brain activities. They found that the key is the blood flow to the reward system in the brain. People who got less pleasure from music had comparatively lower blood flow to areas involved in the reward system of the brain when they were listening to music.

    The lower blood flow makes it more likely that the brain's "reward system" will be inactive. And it will produce less of the "pleasure chemical" dopamine. As a result, people get less pleasure from music.

    If the research is correct, according to National Public Radio, there are simply people who just don't get music. They may get pleasure from many things, but a good tune isn't one of them.

In many middle schools, students must wear the school uniform on school days. But do all the students like the uniform? Wang Ye from No.1 Middle School says,"I don't like my school uniform. It is not beautiful at all. Girls should wear some colorful clothes."But Zhang Wen, a 13-year-old girl, says, "I think it's a good rule. It helps me save(节省) time. Before, I didn't know what to wear every morning and I was always worried about this. It took me lots of time. Now I have more time to do other things."

Everyone gets ill sometimes. What do you often do when you are ill? Maybe I can give you some 1 .

When you are ill, you should have a good rest. You shouldn't go to work or study. When you have a stomachache, you can lie down and rest. You shouldn't eat 2 . When you have a 3 , you have to go to the dentist. When you feel tired, you should go to bed 4 . When you are stressed out, you can listen to music. When you have some problems, you can ask your teachers and parents for help. They can help you to solve them. We should also eat more fruit and vegetables 5 healthy. When we have time, we should exercise often. We shouldn't watch TV or play computer games too much. If you follow these suggestions, I think you can have a healthy lifestyle.

①Jiyou Village in Guizhou Province is famous for its ancient trees and beautiful folk songs. The village is full of Miao culture, and forests cover most of its land. Because of its rich culture, Jiyou Village was included in the List of China's Traditional Villages in August 2013.

②One of the most important events in Jiyou Village is the Bridge Worship Festival (祭桥节). It is celebrated on the second day of the second lunar month. During this festival, the Miao people take an active part in the joyful preparations ,cooking traditional dishes, making wine, and practicing their traditional songs and dances.

③When the festival approaches, the village becomes lively, with villagers dressing up in coloring Miao clothes.Men play the lushing, a traditional musical instrument, while women carry baskets filled with delicious food and wine. The children, dressed in their best clothes, can hardly wait for the fun to begin.

④The highlight of the festival is the bridge worship ceremony(仪式).Villagers come together under the guidance of the elders to honor the bridge and celebrate their heritage(传统).

⑤Man tourists come to experience the traditional festival.During the daytime celebrations, the village square is filled with the happy music of the lushing as villagers and visitors dance together. Tourists take pictures and make videos to remember the special moments.

⑥As night falls, villagers and tourists gather around a bonfire(篝火) in the square. They laugh and chat while sharing stories and delicious food. It's a great time to make new friends and enjoy the warm atmosphere(气氛).

True friendships are very important. They make us much happier. However, it's not always easy to be a good friend.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} 
    Be there when they need you. If your friend is in need, give him a hand. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Let your friends see they can count on you. If they're true friends, you'll be able to expect (指望) them, too.

Learn to forgive (原谅). You should be able to forgive your friends if they do something that hurts you. First, let them know how you feel. If your friends are sorry for what they did, you should forgive them.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}
