Sam woke up suddenly .Someone was moving around in the next room .“Maybe it's his grandmother ,getting a glass of water ,”he told himself .But the next room was the living room .  It wasn't near the kitchen .  Sam's parents were away ,and there was only his grandmother in the house with him .He looked at his watch .It was three thirty !Too early for his grandmother to get up!

    He got out of bed and opened the door very quietly .The window was open .  A man was standing near it and looking in the dark drawers .His grandmother kept her money there! He thought quickly .Yes ,the radio !He turned it on and a man's voice filled the room .The thief felt scared and jumped onto the window .Then he jumped down two floors to the ground.He gave a shout .

    His grandmother was awake and she called the police right away .The thief couldn't get up ,because his leg was badly hurt .When the policemen came ,they were very happy“Great ,Sam ,”said a policeman .“This man is a famous thief .”

    William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564. His father was an important man in the town, so Shakespeare had a good childhood. Shakespeare probably went to school but not university. He got married to Anne Hathaway when he was 18 and the couple had 3 children.

    Shakespeare wrote 39 plays and 154 sonnets (a kind of poem). He began working in his hometown of Stratford, but by 1592, he began writing in London. He became rich enough to buy a house in the capital and another in Stratford. He wrote sad stories called tragedies, like Romeo and Juliet, funny stories or comedies, romantic stories and stories about history, such as Julius Caesar.

    Shakespeare died in 1616, about 400 years ago. But why are his works still popular today?

    His works looked at common human themes, such as murder, lust, power, ambition and love. Even until now, these memes are still part of human nature. We can also see the themes in modem soap operas and Hollywood films. Even though his theatre, The Globe, burnt down in 1613, it was rebuilt in London in 1997 and you can still see his plays performed there today.

    Shakespeare's influence on me English language can still be felt today. We talk about "fair play", meaning honest behaviour, but this phrase was first used by Shakespeare. And it was Shakespeare that came up with the expression of "disappear into thin air". And we still use it today when we lose something. Lord Pingyuan led these twenty {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（man）to the State of Chu. However, the king didn't want to help Zhao. Mao Sui acted so {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（brave）that he walked to the king with a sword（剑）in his hand. The king was shocked and had to listen to Mao Sui. Mao Sui explained {#blank#}8{#/blank#} important the friendship between Chu and Zhao was. The king agreed to help Zhao. Then Mao Sui {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（become）a hero of the state.

What can we learn from the story? It {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（remind）us that we should always believe in ourselves like Mao Sui. Don't be shy to hide your talents. Show yourselves to others.
