George was a quiet, serious young man. He had been studying very hard for one year, and when he passed all his exams, his friend Jim went to give him his congratulations and then had an earnest talk with him.

  “You've never been to a dance, George.” he said. “It's boring always studying and never enjoying oneself. Come out with me this evening.”

  “Maybe you're right, Jim,” replied George after a moment of hesitation.

    So they went to a dance and had a very good time. But George drank more than he was used to, and by midnight Jim became worried about him, so he said, “now we'll walk home in the cool air.”

    On their way home, they came to a bridge. George looked down at the river below very carefully, the stars were reflected on its surface.

 “What are those lights down there?” George asked.

 “They're the stars, George,” Jim answered.

 “The stars?” George said. “Well, then, they should be above in the sky. How did I get so high up here? They are now at my foot!”

The bird and the tree are friends．The bird often sings songs in the tree．Autumn comes．The bird has to fly to the south．Spring comes.The bird comes back，but she can't see the tree．Grass tell her some workers cut the tree down and took him to a factory．Then the bird flies to the factory．The workers told her they cut the tree into wood．They used the wood to make matches．Then they took the matches to a village．The bird flies to the village and sees a girl used the last match to make the fire．The bird sings a sad song to the fire．

    Today is Saturday. The weather is warm and sunny. Bob and Jack go to the park. There are many people there. The girl under a big tree is reading a book. Two boys are playing football on the grass. The girl in a red dress is riding a bike. Two women are talking. The man beside these women is playing with a baby. Bob and Jack are beside the river. They are sitting on the chair and drawing pictures.

    The animals are hungry. They go to a new restaurant. They are looking at the menu.
