Welcome to the Great Wall. Measured more than 6,000 kilometers in length, the Great Wall is known as the long wall in the world. It has a long history of more than 2,000 years. That is amazing about the Great Wall is that it is main made of stones and bricks, and all the construction was done by hand. Though it was used to protect the country from foreign invaders, every few hundred meters along with the Great Wall, there was a watchtower. Now, as symbol of China, the Great Wall will become one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world. It is no wonderful that the Great Wall attract hundreds of thousands of foreign tourists every year.

The other day I ran into an old schoolmate of my, Sally Barber, while I was at the cashpoint. I hadn't seen her for age. I wanted to catch up with her, so I suggested go for a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, Sally's a very busy woman, but she didn't have time for a coffee. Let's meet late in the week, I suggested. That is often the case, Sally looked in her diary, and said we could get together for lunch at 1 pm on Friday at her favorite restaurant. I thought it was a very much smart place, so I had dress in for the occasion. I arrived at a restaurant in good time. I finished my dessert by the time she turned up –she was an hour late!

Some international students visited our school in last week. To help them better understand our tea-drinking culture, I take them to the tea room in our school but introduced the history of tea-making and tea culture to them. All the international students was quite interested in my introduction. Then I showed them what to make tea. I sat at a table, slowly explain every step of the process while making tea. All of them were so amazing that they couldn't wait have a try themselves. Soon the atmosphere in the tea room became lively and we had a lot of funs practising making tea. In the end, we took a group photo to memorize this forgettable moment.

Last Monday, our class hold a speech contest on the theme of thankfulness. Both of us took an active part in it because we were interesting in it. In beginning, our teacher made a speech, appeal to us to be thankful. After that, many participants impressed us on their wonderful performances. They expressed their love and appreciations to their parents, teachers and people who love them. I learned a lot of from this activity. There are many people around us who have helped us great. We should be grateful to them in return for which they have done for us.
