The best experience of my life was when we went to Stonehenge. We went there on a group tour.

    When I saw Stonehenge, my first 1 was that it was huge. You know, Stonehenge is about 5, 000 years old. I 2 how the ancient people moved these huge pieces of stone. After we parked(停车) at the Stonehenge parking lot, our guide Nick took us to a 3shop. There my mum got a nice painting of Stonehenge. After we left the gift shop, we went to Stonehenge 4the tunnel.

    That was a privilege(优惠待遇)at Stonehenge 5we were able to go right up to the stones and touch them. Usually visitors 6get really close and touch the stones. At Stonehenge we walked around the circle and then 7the ceremonial(仪式的) centre. There we were given half a(n) 8 to look around and explore.9 30 minutes we got ready to leave. It was 10 that we had to leave Stonehenge.

    Hopefully, one day I'll go back.

    One day a professor entered the classroom and told the students about a surprise test. Now the professor gave the test papers to all students with text facing down at the desk. After he 1 the test to all students, he asked —them to turn the test pages and begin.

    Students were 2 to see that there was not a question but just a black dot(小圆点）in the center of the page. The professor 3 the students' face expressions and told them," I want you to write about what you see there."

    The students were 4 surprised but got started with the test. At the end of the class, the professor took all answer papers and started reading each 5 from each paper.     So we should try to take eyes off our problems and enjoy each nice moment that life gives 15. Just smile, and life will smile to us!

    John was so lazy that he stayed at home and watched television all day instead of working. One day his 1saw a" Help wanted" advertisement in the supermarket window. The supermarket needed2to put things on the shelves. She told the manager that her husband didn't have a job but he was very 3. She told him that John would come to apply for(申请)the job.

    When she got home and told John about the job, he was just watching television attentively. It made her so angry that she4 the TV and ordered him to go and see the manager of the supermarket. John didn't want his wife to be angry, so he went there.

    On the way, John thought if the manager5  him the job, he wouldn't be able to stay at home and watch television all day long. He would have to work in the supermarket every day.

    Then he had an idea he decided to tell the manager that something was wrong with his shoulder so he could not raise his arm above his head. He was6  the manager wouldn't give him the job. When he arrived at the supermarket, he told the manager that he needed the job." Are you strong?" the manager asked.

    John explained that he couldn't raise his arm above his head. John told him that he7 an accident at home while digging in the garden.

"How 8 can you raise your arm?" the manager asked. John lifted his arm 9"Only this high "he said." And how high could you raise it10 the accident?" asked the manager." This high" said John. And he lifted his arm above his head.

    It is hard to imagine how a person is to spend the whole life when only the head and hands are able to move.

    Xu Ruiyang, an 18-year-old student from Kunming, has suffered (遭受) from spina muscular atrophy (脊柱肌肉萎缩)1she was 2 years old. At that time, the doctor said that most children with spinal muscular atrophy will only live a few years.

    The family did not give up, or even just2. To help Xu Ruiyang live with dignity (尊严), her parents 3her living and learning skills strictly. Opening a book or raising hands, some very easy actions for common people,4, are big challenges for Xu. She had to use her head or5to work together with hands to finish these actions.

    When she started learning to write, she couldn't even6a pen. But she never gave up. Once she lost the pen, she picked it up and7writing. Xu finally could write 500 Chinese characters before becoming a primary school student, after8 thousands of times.

    Over the past few years, Xu has overcome (克服) many problems, including the 9 caused by the disease. Her parents worried about her health and 10her to drop out of school, but Xu's answer was no. "11I read a book and do my homework, the pain is gone," said Xu.

    When asked by reporters on how to deal with difficulties, Xu calmly said, “Patience. When you can't change anything, crying is useless, so just be12."

    In Xu's opinion, her sunny and self-confident13comes from the love of her parents.

    "If we are not able to make her live longer, we can make her life wider," said Xu's father. They travelled across China and more than 20 14 over the world, including Italy, Thailand and Singapore. During these trips, she developed an interest in learning a 15language. "I think it's cool to learn about other countries' culture and express your feelings to others," said Xu.

    Last June, she finished China's Gaokao and received an offer from Sichuan International Study University.
