Mrs Goodwill lived alone in a big old house．She was too old to do a lot of cleaning，so the house was always {#blank#}1{#/blank#}．She wanted to sell the house，but no one would buy it．

    Mrs Goodwill never{#blank#}2{#/blank#}the upstairs(二楼)，so she decided to rent(出租)it out to make some money．She advertised(登广告)in the newspaper and rented the rooms to the{#blank#}3{#/blank#}person who called．He was a young man named Mick．Mick was tall and fat，and he had little hair．One day,Mrs Goodwill's daughter Hillary came to {#blank#}4{#/blank#}．When she saw Mick．she was{#blank#}5{#/blank#}．“Mum，he looks like a criminal(罪犯)．You must be{#blank#}6{#/blank#}，”she said．

    Hillary didn't visit{#blank#}7{#/blank#}till three months later．When she arrived，she couldn't believe her{#blank#}8{#/blank#}．The house was clean and beautiful-Mrs Goodwill was cooking in the kitchen and Mick was planting some{#blank#}9{#/blank#}in the garden．

    Hillary went to her mum and said，“Mum，your house looks so different now．”“Yes．Mick helped {#blank#}10{#/blank#}a lot，”Mrs Goodwill said．“He's quite different from what you think—he is really a kind boy!”

    The end of the term is coming. We become more and more excited because we will {#blank#}1{#/blank#} several weeks off school and can do our favourite things. For example, we can get together with our {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. When the weather is good, we can have a picnic in the park and play games{#blank#}3{#/blank#} . Sometimes we can spend our holiday in a  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} part of a country. For me,  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}   always like relaxing myself on the beach in the south.

    There is always a problem. When it comes to shopping, my mother and I have always{#blank#}1{#/blank#}on what fits me well. To me, if it zips(拉上或拉开拉链), it fits. My mom, however, usually tells me I need a bigger size.

    When I was a teenager, I wanted to dress like my friends, but my body size made it{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. When mom told me something didn't suit me, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}I needed a bigger size, all I heard was that I was fat.

    To avoid arguments, we stopped going shopping together. This continued{#blank#}4{#/blank#}I got engaged(订婚)last year and needed to buy some clothes. When I{#blank#}5{#/blank#}on a blouse, my mother looked at me, and I knew what was coming, "You need a bigger size."

    I tried to hold back my tears(眼泪). Maybe I could buy it alone, but my mom is my favorite person to {#blank#}6{#/blank#}with. The idea of looking for a wedding dress{#blank#}7{#/blank#}her seemed so scary to me.

    And so the day came. As I tried on a simple white dress, I saw tears in my mom's eyes. "You look beautiful!" she told me. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}could have shocked me more.

    This one didn't zip up and I did actually need a bigger size, but my mother told me how beautiful I looked. In that moment, all the arguments in the past{#blank#}9{#/blank#}. We didn't buy a{#blank#}10{#/blank#}that day. We decided to see more.

    A few weeks later, we found the perfect dress. We both loved it as soon as I put it on. Then I also found the perfect fit for our shopping relationship.
