We all know that snakes can eat mice(老鼠), but in a place of Africa a kind of big mouse can eat snakes. Isn't it interesting? Have you ever heard of “brush trees”? They are different from the trees we know. People can use their branches to brush teeth, and they are good for people's teeth.

    You must be very surprised to hear there interesting things. But they are all true. In fact, there are a lot of interesting things in our world. If you are careful enough, you can find them easily around you.

    It was a very hot day in the middle of summer, and there were no trees along the street. Mr. Read closed his shop at half past four. His bike didn't work. So he went out into the street and began walking to the bus stop. He was very fat. The sun was high up in the sky, and soon Mr. Read felt very hot.

    A boy came out of another shop in the street and followed Mr. Read. He stayed very near him all the time, and he kicked Mr. Read's shoes some times. Mr. Read looked at him angrily each time.

    After the fourth time, Mr. Read stopped, turned around and said to the small boy, “What are you doing? Stop following me like that! You're going to hurt my feet.”

    “I'm sorry, but don't stop me, please!” the boy said. “It's very hot today and there aren't any trees in the street!”

    Many people like to travel by plane, but I don't like it because an airport is usually far from the city. You have to get there early and wait for hours the plane to take off and it is often late. You can't open the window. You can't choose the food. Planes are the fast, but it still takes hours to get out of the airport and into the city.

    I like traveling by train. I think trains are safe. Railway stations are usually in cities. When you are late for a train, you can catch another one. You can walk around in the train and open the windows. You can see many interesting things on your way. I know it takes a little more time.

    I also like cars. You can start your journey when you want to, and you don't need to get to a railway station or a bus stop. Also you can take many things with you in a car. But sometimes there too many cars on the road.

    Every year, thousands of people get hurt or die when they are crossing the road. . Old people often get hurt or die because they can't see or hear very well. Children usually meet with accidents (事故)because of their carelessness. .

    How can we lessen(减少) traffic accidents? Everybody should follow the traffic rules. For the drivers, they shouldn't drive too fast. If they drive too fast, it will be very difficult to stop the cars in a very short time. . So, when we walk across the road, we must try to walk along the pavements(人行道). . Look left first, next look right, then look left again. Only when we are sure that the road is clear, we can cross it. The right way to cross the road is to walk quickly. . If people run across the road, they may fall down. Teens should try to help children, old people or blind people to cross the road, and never play in the street.
